Getting your dog groomed can be a costly endeavor.
Some grooming shops offer the bare minimum for a set price (say $45 for a haircut and shampoo), then pile on additional services (nail cutting, special shampoo, conditioner, etc.), so when the grooming is finally complete, what started off as a $45 job ends up costing $70 or more.
In this sluggish economy, many dog owners simply can't afford to regularly spend $70, or more, on their dog's grooming. As an aside, I don't think many people factor in the cost of grooming when they buy or adopt a dog. Small, long hair breeds like Shih Tzus and Yorkies are cute, but maintaining their hair correctly is something that needs to have a place in your budget, just like the rent, mortgage or other bills.
Our pricing strategy at Best In Show Grooming Salon is all-inclusive. For an average of $48 (small, long hair dogs), we offer a haircut, shampoo, conditioner, nails cut, and ears wiped out/hair pulled (breed specific). We DO charge more for flea shampoo (it's VERY expensive; see my rant about that), as well as for other standard add-ons like teeth brushing, anal glands expressed, etc.
However, if the very competitive and affordable price of $48 is still too much for you, we are running an $8 off special through the end of October. If your small breed dog (like a Shih Tzu, Maltese, Yorkie, small Poodle, etc.) has hair in good condition (no mats or tangles), and you can come in on Mondays or Wednesdays, we will knock $8 off the grooming bill...that's only $40 for a Full Service Groom.
There are the usual restrictions, such as: hair in good condition, no special requests like poms on the legs or breed-specific cuts, must bring in our Google Places coupon or show it to us on your smartphone, no other discounts allowed, fleas/teeth brushing, etc, are additional.
